Rewriting History
I’ve been laying the basic foundations for a new idea for another book and have been thinking a lot about how God redeems. He redeems us from punishment, painful situations, awful circumstances, and sin, for His glory, our good, and to benefit others. He will always accomplish His plans and purpose in everything. I take great comfort in that fact.
We are all surrounded by broken people, ways of thinking, relationships, and even the planet we live on. Talk about having issues! There are plenty. None of it escapes God’s attention. In fact, He allows it all. I’ll admit that I hate it and often don’t understand it. I feel like I’ll have so many questions when I meet Jesus face to face. But by then, I won’t care.
I’ll have gained a heavenly perspective that will help me better understand His ways. Until then, I can only pray, trust Him, and strengthen my faith. That’s the point.
God will take my history, and yours, and re-story them. His-story isn’t limited to our history. I’m grateful. I’ve not led a perfect life because none of us has, and yet I know He oversaw it all and will use the sin, mistakes, failures, and even the good to strengthen my faith. I want my faith to grow stronger, my hope to remain in Him, and to see my history redeemed.
God is all about second chances.
He is all about redeeming the broken, the ugly, the bad.
He makes everything work together for good.
And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28
I know God restores, and he never does so halfway. His plans might not unfold the way we wish them to, but they will always be for the best, our good, the good of others, and all for His glory! God knows what He is doing, and we can trust Him.
I’m reminded every day of God’s perfect timing. I have situations in my life that I wish were…
Resolved. Redeemed. Re-historied.
But that is not yet to be.
