When life seems about to overtake you, fall on your knees.
On your knees is the perfect heart posture when you cry out to God. He hears your prayers even if they aren’t able to be uttered. He knows your heart and mine, and I’ve been praying on my knees all year. Of course, don’t take this hyper-literally. God hears your prayers and mine, no matter our physical position or vocal ability. He knows our thoughts and hearts.
Falling to your knees doesn’t mean allowing life to overtake you or forcing you to fall flat on your face. It means you are turning your heart toward God and seeking His help. We could all benefit from more of this humility. His will be done, not mine.
If your Christmas doesn’t exactly look what you thought it would, you are in good company. If this holiday season isn’t merry and bright, I feel you. I have had to search a bit harder this year to find the joy in this season, but you know what? I found it. On my knees, crying out to God for help.
